There are quite a few very pink English people around. Possibly a reaction to BREXIT? 

Cornwall

After 2 days travel, I am at a beach in Cornwall per this photo taken 7pm. Receptionist apologised for the weather, but as Google says it's 21° and "partly cloudy". I am very happy to be here :)

Last day in France

A very nice day at the beach, with pics for boating people. Also I went to a thing at the Cathedral.

Allocation of Expenses

Interrupting this extended beach time with a finance report - for the period 1316-1362. It's not a great photo but shows allocation of costs by 3 popes, each with very different problems. By the time of Innocent 6th, he's at war or on the run. Some interesting extracts from papal household finances:
- books never exceeded 0.5% of income (item C) 
- but this didn't include bulls (another 0.5%)
- clothes, ornaments and art ranged up to 14% - but this included armour (item B)
- war costs a lot, and all three popes had categories for "sundry" and/or 'family' costs

Avignon is currently in party-mode with latest EU soccer result vs Germany. Today's pics feature Festival performers in the street, and some other art-forms:

To Arles for the day.

Arles is a very old city. More importantly it featured in the movie "Ronin", and has a Benedictine abbey. More scooter art also included today.
