The ferry is named after the author... I remember "A Modest Proposal". I imagine he would have been a good dean. Sorry for all the text ... But it's a good read.
Hi Rob, Swift was certainly an interesting character. There must have been something about him to have two women follow him around. One is certainly enough for this dean. No doubt this same "something" was what endeared him to the Irish common folk and gave him the balls to take on the establishment. Russ.

"when someone said that she must have been a remarkable woman to inspire such a poem, Stella replied that it was well known that the Dean could write finely upon a broomstick"... and when Stella was 15, Swift wrote [Stella] came to be “looked upon as one of the most beautiful, graceful, and agreeable young women in London, only a little too fat. "
